Americanisation of Danish weddings!

When we started our gifting company two years ago, the mood of gifting was timid. Be it weddings, birthdays, confirmations, or corporate gifts, the standard template of gifting would be unorganised random products put together with a bit of filler and a plastic bow to tie it all well.
Although we still see it today, the mood is shifting. It is looking rather positive for niche businesses like ours. Consumers today want top-notch service with exclusive products and beautiful packaging. From picking the product to the packaging, the handwritten personal note and every minute detail, the consumer wants to be a part of the process.
With the wedding season on the horizon, we are working non-stop for the first line of wedding gifts custom-ordered by our clients.
Usually, we have international clients who come to Denmark for their nuptials wanting something very specific from The Lush Box.
They want exquisite gifts with a Danish touch of elegance to woo their guests. However this year, we are seeing the tide change in Danish weddings. More and more Danish couples are looking for custom-made wedding favours, welcome gifts, bridesmaid gifts, etc.
The most commonly asked gifting items include;
Food
Alcohol
Self-care indulgences
Danish wooden toys, and many more gifts with personalisation.
 


Is this the start of the Americanisation of Danish weddings, or do we still have a long way to go?
Although it will take radical changes in consumer culture to bring about the changes we need in the gifting spectrum for the wedding market, we do see subtle changes happening. We do get a lot of enquiries from domestic consumers for gifting solutions which was not the case a year ago. At The Lush Box, we believe things are changing, but how fast?
Only time will tell.
